Warnings: Totally un-edited. I feel too tired to do so. Sorry. And it’s OC.
Summary: Hikaru is under a lot of expectations and he feels suffocated, who can save him? (Okay that sucks, I promise it’s not a super hero kind of thing, it’s actually kinds angsty).
Moriaki Chihara was no other than a simple student. Really, there’s nothing special about her. She doesn’t excel in academics, participate in any sports, play any instruments, lead any group, or look anything special. She’s normal, invisible even.
She studies at a private school, that’s because her parents can afford it, but no, they’re not rich. She’s in 2-C, the middle class. You probably wouldn’t even know her name even if she went to the same school for 3 years. And it’s not like she’s craving for attention, she tries to avoid it.
He, though, is the complete opposite.
Yaotome Hikaru is nothing like a simple student. He is part of the group that calls themselves Hey!Say!JUMP because they can make your heart jump in many ways. He excels in academics (top 6 of the whole batch), participates in sports (basketball, soccer and golf), play an instrument (electric guitar), lead the Band (organization for people who plays in bands), write his own lyrics, rap, sing and is very energetic. He’s nothing like normal.
He studies at the same school; only, he’s been in section A ever since his 1st year. His father owns a global business, meaning they’re rich. Everyone knows who he is; he’s Yaotome Hikaru the guy who will forever be so cheerful that it’s too sweet to look at.
But they’re paths crossed one faithful day and that day made all the difference in their life.
Yaotome Hikaru ran as fast as he could to the locker room and rummaged through his locker. He smiled brightly when he found his book there because they have an assignment for it earlier the next morning. So he closed the door softly now, not much in a hurry and walked the darkened corridors of his school late in evening.
When suddenly, he heard someone walking on the opposite end of the corridor and he panicked. But it was quickly replaced with relief when he saw that it was just a girl and she was wearing their uniform. He wanted to say hello and ask what she was doing but he couldn’t because…the girl didn’t look familiar, at all.
But how could that be? He knows everyone in this school!
…Was it a ghost?
No, this is the girl he would soon be too obsessed at.
That time, he didn’t know who she was and what she would be for his life. Ever since that day, he looked through every corner of the room, wanting to know who she was. Curiousity? He doesn’t know yet.
He searched every 1st year and 3rd year rooms and he didn’t find her. Was she a 2nd year? But that can’t be possible, how can he not know someone from his batch?!
But he did find her when he did a search of the 2nd years.
“Who is she?”
“Moriaki Chihara, she’s like, an invisible member of the whole school. She’s cool, but she doesn’t have anything special. Why?” The president of the class that he’s friends with answered his question.
“Nothing, really, but I was surprised I didn’t know who she is.”
“Don’t worry; you’re not the only one.”
And they both laughed.
Weeks had passed since he last saw her; it’s quite hard to do so, considering she makes herself invisible to the crowd. And since those weeks passed, he can’t quite remember how she looked like. That’s how good she was at being invisible.
It was Hey!Say!JUMP’s entry for the Talent Show yearly. They performed an original composition that everyone in the crowd screamed happily.
“THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US! THIS IS YAOTOME HIKARU!” He screamed and girls screamed too.
“I’m Chinen Yuri ♥~ I love you all~” And everyone giggled in the cuteness they were seeing.
But as everyone does so, he noticed someone who was seating in the crowd, just staring at the stage and not showing any kind of happiness.
It was her.
He forgot about her as soon as the nearing of the end of the school year came. It was test here and games there and problems here and there and his mind could not process all those expectations that were thrown at him.
It’s hard, being someone who is known to everyone. They expect too much and want too much in return. But Yaotome Hikaru is still a human being who can make mistakes and be just a normal human.
He struggled day and night to study for exams, practice for the games, write songs, play with friends, joke around a lot, socialize with everyone, be a good son…he tried not to let them down, all of them.
But again, Yaotome Hikaru is human, he fails some and excels in some, he wins some and lose some, he likes some and hates some, he laughs some and gets offended at some, he remembers some and he forgets some…for the first time, he felt disappointment wash over him as he let everyone down.
“It’s okay, you will top the next exam!”
“I know you can win the next one!”
“The next one you write will be better, I’m sure.”
“You can certainly be the best next time!”
“I know you would be more responsible next time, son.”
He was tired of being the top, the winner, the better, the best and the more…he was tired of trying to please everyone. He wanted to be accepted at who he was and not try to exert more in the next time as to not disappoint them.
And that’s how he really did meet her.
“Why are you crying?” She asked him, nearing slowly.
Hikaru looked up and saw Moriaki Chihara staring directly at him, concerned full in her feature. He debated whether to answer but decided it’s not like he was gonna lose anything…
“Ah, Moriaki-san, what are you doing here?”
She raised any eyebrow at him, “How do you know my name?”
“I—“ Should he tell her that he was obsessed because he doesn’t know her? “I was curious because you’re the only one I don’t know in the whole campus.”
“Oh,” She doesn’t seem the type to let go easily “so why are you crying?”
Hikaru debated once again and finally he let go of all of his emotions on her. Why, you would ask, he would tell someone he barely even knows about this problem when he can’t even tell his friends? It’s because he doesn’t know her and she wouldn’t expect too much and want too much and give too much.
To her, he’s normal.
That was the start of a relationship that soon became everything that he depends his life on.
He still worked hard, studied hard, practiced hard, be the best that he can be and try not to disappoint anyone and he still fails and loses and let them down, but it’s okay because he knows that there’s always one person he could lean on and not expect anything that he cannot give.
That was until he realized he works hard and studies hard and practices hard and be the best he can be for her. It wasn’t for anyone and everyone anymore, it was for her. He wants to see her look at the names in the board of the highest score. He wants to see her smile even a little when he wins the game. He wants to see her giggle when he jokes around. He wants to see her cry a little over the touching lyrics he writes.
And what’s the difference over it?
It’s because for her, everything he does is already the best and she doesn’t expect more and want more and demand more, it was already more than enough for her.
“You can’t possibly want me…” She stuttered, “There’s so many out there who would be a good girlfriend to you, who would be worth you…you would lose everything if you go out with me…You have the world in your fingertips, don’t let go…” was what she could only say when he proposed his love for her.
“I know you can’t have everything in life, but it’s okay, because I only need you.” Hikaru answered and she burst into tears as she jumped on him and hugged him with all her might.
“Thank you…”
“I love you so so much.” Hikaru smiled, hugging her in return. It was the best moment of his whole life, just standing there and hugging the girl he loved that loves him back, no one can destroy this feeling…
“Do you mind letting go now? I’m hungry, Hikkaaaaaa!” Yabu wailed.
AN: I hope someone’ll read, I don’t kinda like it but I did write it XD I will edit it as soon as I feel okay again. I hope you like this blozzom_zone . And HAHAHAHAHAHA who noticed the YabuHika in the end? Oh yes I ship them XDDD And so sorry for putting in Chinen in a place where he doesn’t need to be, it’s hard to resist. I love the guy. And I’m already starting on queenmeggie ‘s request, I think I’ll post it tomorrow morning.
